All MSM is not Created Equal
1.University Georgia Analyses Confirms that the MSM used by TEREPIA INTERNATIONAL, INC. is a Natural Form of MSM
2. How can you tell what you are buying an organic source pine MSM?
Does the fossil fuel MSM have benefits like the natural pine MSM?
Is there any long-term side effect from fossil fuel MSM?
A radiocarbon and stable isotope ratio analyses of MSM has concluded
"there is no addition or dilution with fossil fuel-derived material,"
according to Randy Culp, research coordinator, University of Georgia.
This test, which is a carbon dating procedure, confirms that MSM used
by us is an all-natural source of MSM. A fossil fuel source would
indicate if the MSM is synthetic.
Do not be fooled by any other testing, or company hype about pine wood and rain water.
The molecular structure of fossil fuel DMSO and Pine DMSO are the same.
This makes it impossible to determine the difference with regular testing.
Certificate of analysis will not tell us the source of the DMSO. The only
procedure to confirm the source of the DMSO of your MSM is Carbon Dating.
ABSORPTION
Organic MSM used by Terepia International is highly bio-available v Inorganic
To be properly absorbed and play a useful role in the body, it's essential that
minerals are in a form that can be readily assimilated and used at the cellular
level. MSM extracted from organic source (organic - from living source) is
highly bio-available, compatible at the cellular level, and beneficial to health.
Synthetic Minerals have to be oxidized in the body to become bio-available.
Since organic minerals do not have to be oxidized, they are much more bio-available.
There has not been any long term testing of the synthetic MSM. But the
consumption of four to ten grams of synthetic MSM a day for the rest of one's
life is not advisable.
MSM FROM CHINA AND FRANCE
In an interview with Larry King on the American CNN TV Network, Dr Ronald M
Lawrence - a leading advocate for the use of MSM warned about the impure grades
of MSM which are currently being imported from China and the Far East.
In making this comment it should be understood that no disrespect is intended
toward any of the Far East Countries or the products they produce! Among other
things, they produce many fine, high quality and well engineered electronic
products. We are commenting here only about the MSM currently being imported
from these Countries which unfortunately leaves a lot to be desired regarding purity!
MSM and DMSO from Fossil Fuel and not Pine Wood
Most forms of MSM imported from China, India, Europe and some US are synthetic.
Every MSM manufacturer and supplier and retailer explains the history of MSM evolving
from the ocean waters and eventually falling from the sky as in rainwater.
But they forget to confirm if their DMSO is derived from fossil fuel and not
from Natural source of pine wood.
Synthetic DMSO MSM used primarily in animal feeds (animal grade MSM), has found
it's way into nutritional supplements suppliers
No manufacturer will supply this information unless they are using the real
Pine DMSO for their source.
Until it can be ascertained that high quality MSM is available from the Far East
it would be wise to avoid it!
NOTE: Some of the best herbal extracts and raw materials have come from
the far east. Unfortunately DMSO and MSM are not one of them. We do not
want to prejudice the consumer in any way.
Animal Grade MSM
The basic form of MSM was discovered over 20 years ago but long before studies were
done for human nutritional use, it became widely used by race horse owners and
veterinarians for successfully combating a wide range of animal complaints.
Animal grade MSM, commonly called "Horse Powder" is a basic and impure form of
MSM suitable for animal use only. It can and will have benefits to humans but
at what cost ? sometimes be detected by a very slight sulphur odor.
MSM containing fillers
Fillers like magnesium stearate are added to many commercial products for bulking
purposes i.e. it fills the tubs/capsules up.
There is a simple test which you can do to check if your MSM contains any of the
basic fillers like Magnesium Stearate or talc.
1. Depending which form it is in, simply dissolve the contents of about 6 capsules /
four tablets or 1 (one) teaspoon of MSM in a glass of warm water (MSM dissolves more
quickly in warm water).
2. In the case of Crystals, Powder or Capsules, after fully dissolved, the water in
the glass should appear totally clear. If it has a milky or cloudy look it's certain
that it contains a filler/s. In the case of Tablets a small amount of Magnesium Stearate
and Silicon Dioxide is generally deemed necessary to the tablet making process!
The above test is for fillers only - silicates and flow agents do not show up using
this method - see below
MSM Containing Silicates
Flow Agents and Anti-Caking Agents
Silicates, flow agents and anti-caking agents are added commercially for product
appearance and ease of packing.
If the MSM in a tub is like free-flowing powder it is certain to contain one or
more flow agents.
Pure organic MSM forms naturally into larger crystals i.e.. The powder in your
container should therefore appear like white lumpy crystals!
MSM & HEAVY METALS
Some MSM contained small amounts of heavy metal content - Only high
specification laboratory reports revealed these.
Animal Grades and those that cannot imported from the Far
East should be avoided.
